The Renovated Barn is located close to our home, where we live with our 2 dogs. We give guests privacy while they are here, but I do come onto the grounds to tend the animals at least twice every day. Also, please note, animals can be noisy at times. The rooster starts crowing at first light every morning, and during mating season the peacocks can carry on at all hours of the day and night. Mating season is not always the same every year, but typically happens a couple times between April and July, lasting a couple weeks each time.
Guests are welcome to feed and interact with the animals, provided they follow the rules as listed in the Welcome Guide. The Goats are very friendly and welcome pets over the fence, and will eat from your hand. Most fruits, vegetables, and crackers, bread, etc are favorites. The peacocks also love treats, and prefer berries, cherry tomoatoes, crackers & bread. Unhealthy foods such as candy and dairy products are not good for the animals and should not be given. There is also a feed vending machine that takes quarters, in case you don't have any scraps and want to feed them.
The grazing area for the animals extends over to the yard of the Farmhouse and Smokehouse, which are located right next door. The animals often wander over there, and will usually come up to the fence if they see people nearby.
